imtcalc.pt is an IMT and stamp duty calculator. It has no user accounts and no contact forms, and it does not ask for your name, email or tax identification number to run a calculation. The calculations run in your browser.

The site sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. That is why it shows you no cookie consent request: there is nothing to consent to.

What is collected

To understand how the site is used and where the calculator gets in the way, it records the pages viewed, the referral source, the country and general device and browser characteristics, along with a few actions: opening the calculator, switching modes, using the mortgage options, copying or sharing a result, and interacting with the language suggestion.

The amounts you enter are not collected. Not the price, not the taxable property value (VPT), and none of the calculated IMT, stamp duty or total figures. Of the price, only the range it falls into travels — the same bracket boundaries the calculator already uses — never the exact number. Alongside it go categories describing the scenario: the region, the property use, the number of buyers, whether there is a mortgage, whether IMT Jovem applies, whether the buyer is a non-resident or a company, the language and the calculator mode.

Serving the pages involves, as on any site, requests to hosting servers, which may include an IP address, the requested address and technical browser information.

Who processes this

Usage analytics is handled by Plausible Analytics, the site's only analytics tool. Per Plausible's data policy, it uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers: to tell visits apart it derives a value daily from the IP address and browser, which is not kept as an IP address.

The analytics tag and its beacons are served through addresses on this site (/js/script.js and /api/event) rather than going directly to Plausible's domain. That keeps content blockers from removing the count; it does not change that Plausible receives the data, and the forwarded request includes your IP address and user agent, which that daily value requires.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which answers the requests and may keep technical logs.

Local storage

The site keeps a single preference in your browser's localStorage, imtcalc-lang-hint, so it does not suggest switching language again after you have dismissed it. It has no automatic expiry and stays until you clear the site's data. If storage is blocked, the suggestion still works but may reappear.

Calculation links

The page address may contain calculation parameters or a calc identifier. That identifier is reversible encoding, not encryption or a password: anyone with the link can recover the amounts and settings it contains, such as buyer shares, eligibility, buyer type and mortgage details.

Links may remain in browser history, in messages and in request logs. Copying or opening a calculation link can therefore disclose what it contains. The share button uses the options your device provides, and the destination you choose may also retain the link. Avoid sharing calculations containing figures you do not wish to disclose.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing. These rights do not apply identically in every situation; the EDPB's guide to individual rights explains which and when.
